FAQ -
DEMO MODE

1. Can I use demo mode with PLAIN protection method?

Sure, you can use demo mode with any protection method.

2. Can client gain additional evaluation time by deleting or un-installing and re-installing protected application?

Of course not. Protected application will refuse to work in case evaluation period is exceeded. Protected application will restore evaluation counters in case evaluation period was not over.

3. Why is using REMOTE protection with DEMO mode less secure than using REMOTE protection without DEMO mode?

In case demo mode is used, encryption keys must be stored in protected executable so that client can use protected application during evaluation period. However, whole system is secure enough and is used by most of our clients.

4. Can client activate application during evaluation or only after evaluation period expires?

Both cases are possible. He can enter valid activation code during evaluation period (be sure to set "Always display activation dialog box" option) or after evaluation period expires.

5. When does "demo period" start?

Evaluation (demo) period counters start right after the first run.

6. Client reported that my demo application expired earlier than expected. Why?

Protected application is tracking system date/time. In case system date is invalid (system clock turned backward) application will display activation dialog and ask for activation code. This will happen on each run as long as system date is invalid. As soon as system date is fixed application will start in demo demo.
